                               ORDINANCE NO. 10204
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO AMEND ARTICLE II, SECTION 100(39) AND TO ADD
                   ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 107(20) TO PROVIDE FOR
                   ADDITIONAL REGULATION OF HOME OCCUPATIONS.

              	   BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as amended, 
the
         Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
        
              	   SECTION 1.	  That Article II, Section 100 (39)(e) be
         deleted in its entirety and substitute in lieu thereof the
         following:
                   (e)	Any home occupation that generates
                        vehicular traffic to the premises as
                        determined by the City Traffic Engineer
                        shall be permitted only by special permit
                        from the Board of Zoning Appeals in
                        accordance with provisions of Article
                        VIII, Section 107(20) of this Ordinance.
        
              	   SECTION 2.  That Article VIII, Section 107 be amended 
to
         add subsection (20) as follows:
                  
                   (20)	For home occupations which generate
                        vehicular traffic to the premises.  To
                        issue this permit, the Board must first
                        find that the type and amount of
                        vehicular traffic generated by the home
                        occupation will not be disruptive to the
                        neighborhood or in any way create a
                        nuisance or safety hazard to the
                        neighborhood in which the proposed home
                        occupation is to be located.  Home
                        occupations permitted under this section
                        shall also be subject to the provisions
                        of Article II, Section 100.(39)(e) of
                        this Ordinance.  The Board may also
                        impose such additional conditions as
                        deemed necessary to insure the public
                        safety and welfare.

         	   SECTION 3.	  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as required by law.
